The Myth of Self-Sufficiency
God called Gideon something he did not appear to be (“mighty man of valor!”), gave him a few odd resources and kept taking away his fighting men and then told him to go and defeat a mighty army. Gideon could’ve started a homeschool support group! Join Dana and take a look at the modern myth of self-sufficiency and then into the Scriptures at God’s perfect provision. There is peace, joy and rest for the weary found in God, who alone does all things well
Homeschool Moms, Let’s All Resign!
So, your family isn’t perfect?! There’s dishes and arguments and chaos and PRESSURE which equals a mom who feels like her family is falling short. On top of all the external obligations, we moms are great at playing the comparison game - comparing our family’s battle scars to every other family’s public persona. A mom who believes her family doesn’t “measure up” is a mama who feels like a failure. Wouldn’t it be nice if we homeschool mothers could learn to kick pressure to the curb?! Performance Pressure doesn’t help us in our pursuit of becoming the family God intends for us to be. Homeschool moms, it’s time for us to resign! Resign from our exhausting attempts at creating the “fairy tale” family. That chase is distracting us from the highest of callings- the pursuit of our God-ordained masterpiece families!
Join Val Harrison, author, speaker, and homeschool mom of seven, as we look at the seasons of homeschool motherhood, gain a fresh vision for this very worthy task before us, and drop the pressure so we can pursue God’s true best for our families. No matter what season of homeschooling you are in, your family is God’s masterpiece in the making!
