Day Under The Dome

Day Under The Dome in Topeka Kansas
Calling all Homeschoolers to Topeka!
Announcing the 2016 CHECK Day Under The Dome Homeschooling Celebration!  Each year CHECK puts on a day of celebration in Topeka to present homeschooling to the legislators and provide a great opportunity for homeschool families to have a field trip to our state capital.  This year's celebration is totally different with new events and opportunities for your family.  We are looking forward to having Representative Pete DeGraaf, State Attorney General Derek Schmidt, Secretary of State Chris Kobach and Govenor Sam Brownback.  Also, we are excited to have Scott Woodruff, the HSLDA attorney representing Kansas.  There will be tables highlighting homeschool groups, entertainment from homeschool students and a class on the basics of homeschooling.  Our main event is by the Lecompton Historic Society.  They will be bringing historic reinactors for an interactive debate just like the debate held in Lecompton in the late 1800's discussing slavery in Kansas.  Your homeschool students are invited to join the debate and will be brought on stage reinacting this discussion that defined our state so long ago.  Put this event on your calendar - Thursday, February 25th.  More details are coming soon!
